The Challenge
In this particular project the challenges were not few.
Retail and wholesale together, dozens of categories that required very careful menu deduplication, migration from the old website to the new one without losing any value and SEO that had to be done... awesome, since drinks and tobacco can't run ads in Meta and Google.
Can it be done? It can be done!
Since going live, The Distiller's updated online store has been steadily increasing its organic reach, clicks and orders are multiplying and fine drinking enthusiasts are enjoying only the best.

Methodology
Although The Distiller's existing website was only a few years old, the facts had already changed. First step?
- Thorough market research
- Data analysis to understand user needs and preferences
- In-depth keyword research and menu rebuilding to help users find what they are looking for quickly and easily.
Then; UX/UI design.
We created a custom design with a strong focus on colors, fonts and overall branding, managing to perfectly reflect The Distiller's uniqueness and enhance the user experience.
In this project, SEO played a dominant role - after the menu, the descriptions of the eshop's main categories were next, whether we're talking about product categories (e.g. tequilas, cigars) or brands (e.g. Giffard).
However, what really made The Distiller stand out was the incorporation of an innovative mechanism for personalized product recommendations in e-commerce.
The bigger the online store, the greater the need for personalization. You need to cater to the different audiences that end up on your eshop pages - café/bar owners looking for equipment such as professional espresso machines, bartenders looking for premium cocktail equipment, connoisseurs who already know what they are looking for and newcomers who are just taking their first steps in fine drinking and are looking for a professional to guide them.
The only way to achieve this is with automation.
With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), Aqurate's personalized recommendation engine shows each individual user what they want to see, leading to an increase in sales!
The Result
The result?
- An increase in organic traffic: through an enhanced SEO strategy, which included the optimization of the website architecture, the flawless technical implementation and the creation of high-quality content, we managed to improve the ranking of the online store in Google searches.
- Improved user experience: The new UI/UX design made a difference. With a well-organized menu, modern layout and excellent graphics, the site navigation experience became more pleasant and efficient.
- Enhanced digital presence: With targeted social media campaigns, brand awareness increased significantly. Our strategy focused on creating content that enhanced brand visibility and effectively reached the audience. Design
With the help of 3ds, The Distiller's e-shop combines aesthetics and functionality, offering an excellent user experience.
We followed The Distiller's identity and incorporated its unique elements into the design, from the graphics and color palette to the layout of elements and categories.
Digital Marketing
On the digital marketing side, 3ds developed a strategy focused on social media marketing, such as using Facebook to boost brand awareness.
Through engaging and informative posts, we were able to strengthen brand awareness and achieve an increase in traffic to The Distiller's online store.
SEO
Due to the ban on sponsored ads for tobacco and alcohol products, our strategy has been hugely focused on optimizing organic traffic.
Starting with redirects to ensure all old URLs were properly referencing their respective new pages, we upgraded the site architecture to improve loading speed and ensured SEO techniques such as proper use of meta-tags, alt texts and schema markup were implemented.
In addition, we focused on producing high-quality content that is responsive to user searches. Detailed keyword research combined with content writing contributed significantly to improving rankings in search engine results pages (SERPs).
Development
The development team focused on the complete development and creation of a new e-shop for The Distiller. We installed and configured wholesale (B2B) mechanisms to facilitate commercial transactions.
In addition, we implemented custom email responses and a system of personalized product recommendations to provide a personalized shopping experience for users.
Adapting the website to mobile devices was also important to make the user experience excellent, regardless of the device used.
